How Karma works.

Plain answers about what Karma records, how, and what it can’t see.

Why Karma

Bundling was never the problem. Coins have been bundled since day one. The problem is that nobody defends the floor anymore. Devs farm a launch, dump on their holders, send the money through an exchange, fund fresh wallets and do it again the same night. There’s no history, no record and no cost. Every rug starts from a clean slate.

Karma ends the clean slate. To launch on Karma, a dev permanently links their X account to their wallet. Every coin they’ve launched is public, along with how long they held, when they sold and how far the chart fell after they did. That link can never be undone. A fresh wallet doesn’t help. Your X comes with you, and so does your record.

You can still bundle. You just can’t dump and walk away. Hold the floor and your record shows it. Every launch you hold builds your reputation, and a good reputation brings buyers to your next launch before it even starts. Rug, and that follows you to every launch you ever do. What you do on Karma comes back to you.

The karma score

Every verified dev gets a score from 1 to 99. Half of it comes from launches that weren’t rugs, a quarter from the share of launches that bonded, and a quarter from how much of their buy and bundle the dev kept. Each rug also takes 10 points off, up to 40. Devs with no launches start at 50. Under 3 launches the dev is marked new.

Verification

  1. Connect Phantom, Solflare or Backpack and type your X handle.
  2. Karma makes a one-time code like KARMA-7F3K9Q and asks your wallet to sign Karma: permanently link wallet <address> to @<handle> with code KARMA-7F3K9Q. This link can never be undone.. That proves you own the wallet. It is not a transaction and costs nothing.
  3. Paste the code anywhere in your X bio. Karma checks the bio every 30 seconds for 15 minutes, and you can press Check now.
  4. When the code shows up, the wallet is linked. You can remove the code from your bio after that.

Wallets link to your X account’s permanent numeric user ID, not the handle. Handles can be renamed or sold, so stats stay on the ID and show the current handle. One wallet can only ever belong to one X account. One X account can link several wallets. Codes expire after 15 minutes and work once.

Bios are read from the public profile endpoint api.fxtwitter.com, because the official X API’s free tier doesn’t include user lookups. Results are cached and checks are rate-limited.

Links are permanent

There is no unlink. Once a wallet is linked to your X, it stays linked, and every coin it ever launched stays on your record. A fresh wallet doesn’t give you a clean slate: launching on Karma needs a wallet linked to your X, so the new wallet joins the same record. Every launch you hold builds your reputation, and a good reputation brings buyers to your next launch before it starts.

What’s on a profile

The X handle, account age, followers, verified-since date, every linked wallet, and a badge: unproven dev under 3 launches, rugger with any flagged rug, verified dev otherwise. Stats are total launches, bond rate, average and best peak market cap, average time to bond and rug count.

Launches are imported from every linked wallet, every coin the wallet created on pump.fun, plus every Karma launch. Each launch shows its peak market cap, whether it bonded, time to bond, how much the dev sold and how fast, bundle flags and the rug flag. Holders at peak is planned.

The rug rule

A launch is flagged as a rug only when the dev bundled it (wallets funded by the dev or by the dev’s funder bought in the launch block) and those bundle wallets sold all of their bundled supply (95% or more, allowing for dust) within 30 minutes of launch. A dev selling their own buy is normal in the trenches and is not a rug.

Most devs sell their own buy early. That is how the trenches work, so dev sells are shown on every launch for context but never count toward a rug. What counts is a bundle: wallets the dev funded buying in the launch block, then all of that supply being dumped within 30 minutes. Bundle sells come from pump.fun’s public trade feed on pump.fun coins, and from token balance history on Karma coins, where tokens moved out of a bundle wallet count as sold.

Bundle flags

For each launch, Karma looks at buyers in the launch block. For each buyer it traces the first SOL the wallet ever received. If that came from one of the dev’s wallets, or from the wallet that first funded the dev, the buyer is flagged on the coin page. Wallets with more than 3,000 transactions can’t be traced on the free tier and are treated as unknown, not clean. Every analyzed launch is checked, and the flagged wallets’ sells feed the rug rule.

Launching

Launches run on Meteora’s Dynamic Bonding Curve as a launchpad config. Nothing custom is deployed. Each launch is two transactions you approve together:

  1. The 0.1 SOL launch fee to the Karma treasury, plus creation of the curve config.
  2. Creation of the pool and your dev buy, from your verified wallet.

Curve: 1,000,000,000 supply, starting market cap 30 SOL, graduating to a Meteora DAMM v2 pool at 400 SOL. Trading fee 1%, split as described below. All graduated liquidity is permanently locked: in creator mode 85% of the position belongs to the dev and 15% to the treasury, in holders mode all of it to the treasury. The the mint and metadata are immutable.

Only launches made through Karma by a verified wallet are recorded as Karma launches. Anyone could reuse the curve settings outside Karma, but those coins don’t go on anyone’s record.

Fees

Every trade pays 1%. Meteora keeps its protocol share. The rest is split the same way on every coin, before and after graduation:

  • 15% always buys back and burns the coin. The treasury claims it, buys the coin on its own pool and burns it in the same transaction.
  • 85% goes where the dev chose at launch, and the choice can never be changed:
    • Creator mode: the 85% goes to the dev. Meteora splits it inside the pool and the dev claims it on /claim. Karma never holds it. After graduation it keeps coming from the dev’s permanently locked liquidity position.
    • Holders mode: the 85% goes to the coin’s holders, in SOL, pro rata to how much each wallet holds at payout time. Rounds go out once 0.05 SOL has built up. Pool vaults and other program-owned accounts are never paid, and shares under 0.00001 SOL roll over to the next round.

Fees are claimed and paid out once a day. Every burn and every holder payout is listed on /fees. The 0.1 SOL launch fee pays for running Karma. No buyback can guarantee price.
